Understanding skin types

We mentioned that there are five general skin types, and we want to expand on this a little bit. These skin types include:

2. Oily — your sebaceous glands overproduce, and your skin is very shiny and oily, which can set the stage for more acne
3. Combination skin — you have oily patches alongside dry patches
4. Sensitive — your skin is highly sensitive and prone to irritation and redness
5. Normal — your skin is in the sweet spot between oily and dry and isn’t overly sensitive

These aren’t the only ways we differentiate skin. For example, skin color plays a role, as does the presence of common skin conditions such as acne, rosacea, psoriasis, eczema, allergies, and other common problems.

When you add this all together, you can have many different skin variations that call for different treatments, which is where custom facials come in.
